I didnt have to hesitate for a moment to reblog this after I read it.

Oh my goodness, I would cry if someone said that about my autistic brother…

This anon has some serious issues. Just because they have autism doesn’t make them any less of a human and doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be loved.

that anon just… just no. That anon is unacceptable. You don’t go around judging people before you get to know them. Just goes to show what society has become…

It makes me very sad when people refer to autistic people as “retarded and useless”. People with autism does often come across as little competent, but most people with autism are really extremely talented and intelligent. For instance, Stephen Wiltshire, “the human camera”, is autistic. Also, Albert Einstein, Andy Warhol, Jane Austen, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Bill Gates, Ludwig Van Beethoven and Vincent Van Gogh does all have, or are questioned to have Aspergers Syndrome/high-functioning autism. Idk about you, anon, but I personally wouldn’t consider any of them neither retarded nor useless. The problem with autism is that their common sense and logical thinking is working in a completely different way than others, making it extremely difficult for them to express themselves and explain things correctly in a world they don’t understand. Autistic people are not stupid, nor necessarily smarter than others, just different.

FFS. One of my best friends is autistic. She’s lovely, and one of the cleverest people I know. She’s also really fun to be with. The only things different about her is that she sometimes gets confused with sarcasm, subtext etc, and isn’t good at reading body language. But she’s still one of the loveliest people I know, and also a musical and mathematical genius. Being autistic does not make you inferior to anyone else. Making generalised, hateful  statements like that is ignorant and disgusting. It’s not people with autism or disabilities who have the problem. It’s the small-minded hate-mongering wankers making hurtful anonymous comments.

Normally I’d allow someone to voice their opinion, even if it was horrible, as long as it wasn’t harming anyone else.
In this case, the words I’ll start out with are FUCK YOU.
This anon obviously has absolutely no ACTUAL, GENUINE contact with real people with autism, because what? WHAT? I have quite a few friends and family members with autism, and they’re all amazing and kind people. One of my friends is an amazing mathematician and scientist, another is a great listener and a wonderful person, and my cousin is an utter sweetheart who loves to dance with people.
Sometimes it’s hard for them to filter their thoughts and sentences, but you know what? The fact that they almost always tell the truth makes it even more special when they’re complimentary or kind, because you know that it’s genuine.
So I’m just gonna wash my hands of you, Anon, and let you know that you’re definitely missing out.
And fuck you one more time. Y’know, for the hell of it.

There are no words nor gifs that can be used to adequately describe my feelings. Just….you guys are amazing. *sobs*
